i miss the summer!!

I'm sitting here at my computer, checking all my blogs and writing this one at 37 minutes past nine and I'm only dreaming about my fantastic summer! Its Freezing here in the office and theres a nice warm fire down stairs! My summer consisted of this:
wake up- straight for the beach to get hydrated, meet with the everyone and discuss last nights antics
go home- get showered and ready
go to a job that i loved at 7ish,
finish work at round 1 start drinking again,
go to the beach then and light a fire and we would continue drinking and having a bit of banter until average 5 and then go to sleep.

It was by far the best summer ever!!

and now Ive got the sniffles, I'm also broke and i miss all the really cool people i met that were just stopping by!

and when i was over there i hardly got a chance to miss my friends because most of them came over to me! and i went bungee jumping TWICE, my mother near died, still a bit of a touchy subject but I'm here alive at the end of the day!!

But on the plus side it is almost Christmas, I'm going over to see my friends in Liverpool and its near my birthday! so things arent to bad!!

p.s im also happy because all my college work is now over for the rest of the week! yay!!

The Recession

I really really I'm not happy the moment because i just got a call from work saying they don't need me this weekend, and they didn't need me last weekend! I'm so skint its gone beyond a joke and i need to save for Christmas and my weekend trip to Liverpool on Stephen's day!! and since my boss is such a wonderful person (NOT) i don't want to point the finger (she is the devil) so therefore I'm blaming the recession, even though were run of feet every weekend, as you have saw! And it was my mums birthday Today, luckily shes not here but i cant even afford a card for her at this stage never mind a present! And to add insult to injury my brother Andy's birthday is the 12th of December, I'm the 13th and my other brother Will's is the 14th (my dad HATES December in case your wondering) so there isn't a hope they ll be getting any birthday presents! so i actually hope they don't get me one because id feel so bad!! ugh i hate this recession!!

Virtual communities

I think Virtual communities are really handy to an extent, like bebo was sooo much cheaper for me to stay in contact with everyone during the summer when i was working in France, like i didn't have the credit to ring all my mates and have a catch up! and for me facebook is a great way for me to keep in contact with all the people i met during the summer and some of them are home now in Germany or Australia and i don't think mammy dearest would be to happy to see phone calls being made to Australia when the bill comes in the door!
In saying that i still haven't made up my mind about second life, i suppose its just escapism and a bit of fun and a great way for free publicity but you don't know who your talking to and i wouldn't feel comfortable myself, like id much prefer to go into Mc Phails with my friends than go into a virtual Blarney Stone!
And chat rooms i think are just the dodgiest thing in the world!! There's weirdos out there and most if not all of them are in those dodgy chat rooms!

Thinspiration

Because of today's role model's, our perception of beauty has been completely changed from a healthy size to a "healthy" size 0. there is so much emphasis on the size zero, which to me and most human beings is actually horribly unhealthy looking. Look at the likes of victoria beckham who is a role model for millions of teenage girls and yet does not maintain a healthy figure, she has in fact the same size waist as a seven year old girl. because of this many girls resort to starving themselves or making themsleves sick every time they have a meal to live up to their idols. im not putting the blame on her, look at the catwalk, nicole richy, lindsey lohan, cheryl chole and paris hilton and many others who are being photographed everyday with bones sticking out left right and center. What happned to the good aul days were the average size was a healthy 12. one of the 1970's leading "sex bombs" was marlin monroe who was, in fact a size 16, which is twice the size of the average size 8 nowdays amougst young girls. Instead of these women being an inspiration they are now a thinspiration!!
